THE CROSSING: A short-film screening about animals, highways and ideas

Since 2017, 20-some regional organizations have been collaborating to make Interstate 40 between Asheville and Knoxville safer for people and wildlife. This partnership ultimately led to the creation of Safe Passage: The I-40 Pigeon River Gorge Wildlife Crossing Project.

At The Crossing film event on Thursday, Oct. 26, Safe Passage will showcase a similar project along Washington state’s Interstate 90, where bridges are being built for wildlife to cross. Come watch Cascades Crossroads along with several other short films on road ecology in Southern Appalachia, and learn more from guest speaker and award-winning conservation filmmaker Ted Grudowski, director of Cascades Crossroads.
